    3. Tom, I was just in Poteau Sept 6-8. I looked at the Heavener & Poteau newspapers for the Obit for my grgrgrandfather. I found one small article about him in the Heavener Ledger on Dec. 8, 1927. It talked about him being seriously ill. But I never did find an obit, even though I looked at all the rest of the newspaper of that year. He died in Haw Creek at the home of his son Harry and is buried at Big Creek Cem. Miller/Evans and Dowden Funeral Homes do not have records of that years deaths. Do you know of any other sources that keep records of obits? I am at a stand still with my research concerning my grgrgrandparents. I don't have much information on them, except the birth & death dates. Here is what I have: Isaac John Allen Warford b. Sept. 9, 1850 AR d. Dec. 6, 1927 OK. bur. Big Creek Cem. Occupation-Farmer, Blacksmith, Circut Rider Preacher--Later ordained in 1900 at the Concord Missionary Bapt. Church. m. Mary Frances Crenshaw b. Oct. 25, 1854 AR. d. June 6, 1899 Ok bur. Oakdale Cem, Heavener, OK. marr. abt. 1869 AR. Moved from Scott Co., AR to LeFlore Co., OK. abt 1892. She was suppose to be 1/2 Cherokee, but no roll card. What information do the cemeteries keep on the people who are buried in them? Who would I contact to get this information? I live in TX and don't get to LeFlore, Co., but one time a year, for our Warford- Pinnell Reunion. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks, Barbara G. [email protected]
