Over 60 years ago my family lived on a Choctaw40 acres allotment in Williams. Leflore County, Okla.. My dad was a coal mine supt. for a mine called the Mary Anne . Mr. Ledbetter, Slim ( all I know ) worked for my Dad. There is little left of Williams and I am certain Slim abandoned the area for lack of work As I recall his age he would have been of draft age. You might start with the Selective Service Commission in Poteau, Okla. I recall Mr. Ledbetter to be a gentleman in overalls, very definitely Indian and for some reason I looked on him as a hero. And verry well he might have been.
