Juanita, In my grandfather's book "The Proud Heritage of LeFlore County" he wrote about both Muse and Pine Valley. According to the book, Muse was first named Pugh Town becuase Tilllman Pugh, the father of Alvin (A.P. Pugh) built the first store there in 1897. Muse was two miles east of the store with the post office named Muse. From what is written in the book, Pugh Town was in a better location so the Muse post office and store was moved there and the name P.T. ceased to exist. The book lists A.P.'s wife and children. If you could use their names let me know. Pine Valley was a separate location and was a ghost town in the early 1960s. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Juanita Bradshaw" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2002 6:34 PM Subject: Re: [OKLEFLORE] Re: Muse > At 05:34 PM 10/31/2002 -0800, you wrote: > > > Can any one on the list tell me what the name of the funeral home that > > would have taken care of the arraignments for the people being buried > >in > > the Muse Cemetery, in 1920-1921 was (address, so I can write them) and > > can anyone tell me what the name of the newspaper, that would have > > contained the obituaries for that area, in 1920-1921 was?
