    3. Over 60 years ago my family lived on a Choctaw40 acres allotment in Williams. Leflore County, Okla.. My dad was a coal mine supt. for a mine called the Mary Anne . Mr. Ledbetter, Slim ( all I know ) worked for my Dad. There is little left of Williams and I am certain Slim abandoned the area for lack of work As I recall his age he would have been of draft age. You might start with the Selective Service Commission in Poteau, Okla. I recall Mr. Ledbetter to be a gentleman in overalls, very definitely Indian and for some reason I looked on him as a hero. And verry well he might have been. 3. Juanita these are probably my Parkers! I am curious wether the pictures look like John and Luther are Father and son, or brothers? If there is anyway these could be sacnned and e-mailed I would love it! I am not sure wether Maw is indeed Fannie Mae Parker but she was quite a good sized woman. About as wide as tall! Familly rumour has it that she was part Native American ( I have begun to think that everybody in the south has a great grandma who was a Native American) LOL! If these can't be sacnned I amy have to buy this book! 3. Thank you Marolyn ... the Parker lines on two sides of my family aren't direct lines of mine, but it is interesting isn't it that the families were in Wister area at the same time? I believe you have communicated and may even be related to Brenda D. in CA. She is a whiz on the Parker and Balentine lines but I haven't heard from her in a long long time. She is generous, a sweetheart of a cousin and very informative. 2. Becky, The BALLENTINE/PARKERs is part of my grandmother Loney Parker FOLKNER's family. She was the d/o Joseph "Bud" PARKER & Mattie VINSON & g-daughter of Zachariah "Zack" PARKER & his 1st wife Mary WALKER. The BALLENTINEs come into the line thru Zack's 2nd marriage to Sarah Florence VINSON who was Mattie's sister. But I don't know the line of Luther PARKER or Rosie Rogers PARKER or if they were a part of this same line. 3. Juanita, Since I know nothing of John's family, his parents or siblings this would be of interest to me. Rufus K Parker could possibly be John's younger brother. It is worth looking into since I have no other information! The Dad is from Miss. that is good and Rufus Jr. was born in Ark. that follows my familys migration pattern! So if you wouldn't mind, it would be worth looking into. My private e-mail address is >[email protected]< Also I do have ancestry.com so I can actually look up census records if I have the years and towns. Thanks! 3. I have some PARKER members in my family too, on two sides of my family. In brackets [ ] I will put the married names of some of the females if I know them or if I know they are deceased. On my paternal grandfather's side of my family my great great grandparents, Nancy (COKER)and John B.E.C. "Jack" GLENN, had a son, George W. GLENN, who was born 1865-67 in MO (died in Leflore County, buried in Wister Cemetery) and married Lena CHRONISTER. George's siblings were Dan and Mollie BARRETT and John, Amanda Precilla, and Ollie GLENN, and Sebe, Samantha, and Muse NAPIER. Amanda was born in 1871 in Wister and married John ROGERS. Their children were Bill, Rosie [PARKER], Walter, Alfred, Jimmy, Baby, Essie [JONES], Alice [KING], Emma [NUNN] and Ethel [WHITE]. Rosie b. August 20, 1890 married Luther PARKER. Nine children were born to this union. On my paternal grandmother's side of my family my great grandparents, Martha Jane (HENRY - see below***) and John Wesley BALENTINE were the parents of my grandmother, Ida Mae BALENTINE b. 1898 (lived and died in Leflore County, buried at Mt. View Cemetery) who married Wilburn Perry "Wib" GLENN. Ida's siblings were William McKinnley "Mack/Mac", Mary Marie [PARKER], James Harvey, Fred Roosevelt, Hartsel Lee, Clara, Baysul Troy, and Lucille (all who lived at one time or another in Leflore County. Mary married William Roy PARKER b. 1905 Perry County ARK. James married Myrtle PARKER b. 1906 in ARK. *** Martha Jane was born as Martha Jane STELTZ or STELZ (both ways on her marriage license), but all of the family knew her and her father and all decendants with the last name of HENRY. Her father, James Monroe Henry STELTZ/STELZ, merely dropped the last name, making HENRY their last name. Jim HENRY had a store in Wister for a long while. It's only been in recent years that this came to light, but none of Martha's children knew of this that we know of. If anyone knew any of these people, or are related to any of these people, I would be interested in communicating with them, hearing stories about them, and finding new data. Thank you, Becky

    3. My grandparents, Ardes S Webb and Rosie Webb, lived in and around Poteau back in the 20's to 40's. They at one time wrote a column for the Poteau paper. At some point they had taken in, I think only two, girls. They were Jewel and Elizabeth(Lizzie) Parker. I think that was the maiden names. Wondered if anyone has any info on these ladies. I met them both in Fort Smith,AR back in the 60's. They both died not long after that. ----- Original Message ----- From: "cunningham1234" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 05, 2002 9:38 PM Subject: Re: [OKLEFLORE] Parker > There are Parkers inArkoma, OK in Leflore County. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Juanita Bradshaw" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Friday, July 05, 2002 7:03 PM > Subject: [OKLEFLORE] Parker > > > > Sherrill, I sent this to your privet address but, I did something wrong, > It bounced, I didnt find the names you wanted but, I did find several > Parkers in my Heavener Book, > > > > Rufus K.
