    2. The Stapp/Zoe cemetery is approx. 12 miles south of Heavener on hwy. 270/59. It is not located right on the highway. One good visual reference is the Cedar Lake exit. The Zoe exit is about a quarter of a mile south of the Cedar Lake exit. Or the next two exit on the North east side of the highway. The first exit is much better, as it takes you right by the cemetery entrance, which is located diagonally across the road from the Stapp/Zoe Baptist Church. They are about a quarter of a mile off the main highway. Bill Walkup

    1. [OKLEFLORE] Henry Ivy CHILDERS and John C. CHILDERS
    2. Gail Sturgess
    3. I recently visited Poteau to search for Henry Ivy CHILDERS and John C. CHILDERS. I received help and suggestions about who to talk to and where to go from the local Chamber of Commerce. At the public library, a Poteau Valley Genealogical Society volunteer found cemetery listings in about three minutes. We found the markers easily and confirmed our information on two generations. Thank you, Poteau! I wish all my searches were as easy and pleasant. We also received good directions to Hall Cemetery from a man in the furniture store. Now, if I could just find which unmarked graves in Hall Cemetery belong to Ardell GARDNER CHILDERS and her infant son Clarence, that little family would be complete. Ardell GARDNER CHILDERS (b. 1870, Saltillo, Lee Co., MS, d. 1892, Leflore Co., OK) was the sister of Hanon GARDNER who moved to Poteau, OK from Lee Co., MS. Does Hanon have relatives in Poteau? In Volume 9, page 33 is the following information: ROGERS, Jake T.; Mar 22, 1881 - Mar 6 1949. The next listing in the book is: ROGERS (double stone) Vassie, Mar 7 1909 - Oct 9, 1932 Donald R.
