    3. The Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City has a lot of old newspapers in its archives. Here is a link http://www.ok-history.mus.ok.us/arch/leflor.html Ordinarily I would do free lookups but due time shortage I haven't even been able to do one I promised a couple of months ago. If you don't succeed in getting the info you want I will be happy to help a bit later. 3. Joyce "Lowe" Thies I can't tell if Lowe might be her maiden name thats the way the obit was printed. Did not give parents names, but her two brothers were Clyde & Larry Davis, The mother could have remarried? Her husband is Roger Thies Hope this explains it better.

    3. Bev, I was just in Heavener last week. I went in to the Heavener Ledger and ask about getting an obit between 1899-1927. I was told they had some records, but they would not look them up or let me look for them. The woman was not interested in helping me. I was so disappointed to think that there might be information about my ancestor, but I'm not allowed to see it. I traveled over 300 miles to just be turned away. I hope you have better luck. I plan on putting my families annual reunion notice in the Poteau paper from now on. Barb

    3. Wouldn't you know it -- the first date the book starts with is 9-23-1899!?!?! I looked to see if there were any listings for Crenshaw or Warford, though, and there aren't any.. The closest in spelling is a Weatherford, M. C., who died February 9, 1919. Nothing even close to the spelling of Crenshaw -- just a Shaw, Eugene T., died October 14, 1915. Sorry -- if there is any other name you need to check on, let me know.
