    3. go south of Heavener through Hodgen it is about 12 miles to Zoe. The Holsum valley road and the new forest ranger office will be on the right. Just beyond the Foorest ranger office on the left is a black to road. There is a sign there for the Zoe Babtist Church. it is maybe 3/4 of a mile to the church and cemetery Rebecca Glenn-Dickson wrote: > FROM Heavener take Hwy 59/270 through Hodgen (NOT to Wister, Howe or Poteau, but the > OTHER DIRECTION *smile*). 3. FROM Heavener take Hwy 59/270 through Hodgen (NOT to Wister, Howe or Poteau, but the OTHER DIRECTION *smile*). Cross Brushy Creek. There was at one time a small sign pointing to the left showing how to get to Zoe Cemetery but I don't know if it is still there. Zoe is about 10 miles from Heavener. I'm not sure where the cemetery is, and not for sure how far you go on 59/270 before you get to the road that goes to Zoe, but know the entire trip shouldn't take any longer than 10-15 minutes. I KNOW this isn't much help, but if one will stop at any of the houses out there then the "natives" could give directions to Zoe and perhaps even the cemetery. Friendly folks out that way! 3. Hi Gary, a personal note: I live in Montrose, CO and am trying to do family history in OK also. Distance is a fun thing, isn't it? Robin ----- Original Message ----- From: Gary Wilson Sent: Friday, November 22, 2002 3:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [OKLEFLORE] The correct place of a cemetery in Glendale OK Hi, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gary Wilson. I live in Cortez, Co. The Four Corners area. My ggrandmother is buried in Le Flore Co. Her name is Amanda Adaline Wyatt. One of her daughters, Carrie May, twin to William, born May 8, 1889, in Howe, OK is my ggrandmother. I don't think it should be Oklahoma. My question is this-My information shows Amanda passed away in 1894. Buried Mountain View Cemetery, Glendale, Le Flore County, OK. After it became a stae then this would be right. In 1894 was there such a place as Le Flore county and also it was not Oklahoma yet. What would be the proper way to write this down? This area was known as Indian territory right? The information I also have is that this cemetery is behind a church next to a dam? and the town of Glendale no longer exists ? I do have a picture of her headstone, I just want to get the right location for it. Thank you ! Hi Gary - I can't help with the local information like the others, but I can provide you with a link to a map showing Glendale. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/okprojects/leflore/lef-5n-25e.gif I would cite the location as Glendale, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now LeFlore County, Oklahoma) It is long, but contains the facts. Hopefully someone more up on current source citation will jump in and give us the correction way to cite the information. ===== Marti [email protected] http://www.rootsweb.com/~okleflor/ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? 3. I have been sent copies of two obituaries that say burial was at "Oak Cemetery." I do not find this cemetery listed on the Le Flore Co. U.S. Genweb site. Both ladies (Grace Wright and Jennie Jett) lived in Cameron at the time of their death. I do not know the name of the husband of either lady. I do know that Mrs. Wright was married first to a Mr. Morris. Mrs. Wright was the widow Morris in 1920. I am looking for the graves of the parents of these two ladies. The parents were John and Myra (or Elmira) Hattendorf. This couple was living in Cameron in 1920. Mrs. Hattendorf was still living when her son died in 1946. I have no idea when Mr. Hattendorf died. Any help will be appreciated. Margaret McCleskey, Arlington, TX

    1. [OKLEFLORE] Wyatte at Mt View
    2. Gary Wilson
    3. Hi, Is it MT. View or Mountain View ? Amanda Wyatt was married to John D Wyatt. John was killed by a block of ice in Ft. Smith Arkansas in 1916. He is buried in the National Cemetery there. R.L.Wyatte could be Robert Lee Wyatt b. Feb 7 1872 in Arkansas. He passed away Jan 29 1955 in Modesto, CA. Lena Wyatte could be Amanda Lenora " Nora" Wyatt. She was born Nov 20 1877 in Arkansas. She married Richard Wilson from this area, ( no relation) They moved to Cortez, Co with my ggrandmother. Crazy Aunt Nora had a trading post on the Ute Mountain Indian Reservation. She passed away Jan 19 1967. Ada Wyatt I am not real sure about. After Amanda passed away, John remarried a Catherine McAnahan ( I can't place my hands on her records) and hade several more children. Does anyone have a listing in the cemetery books on Elijah Wyatt. He was born 1814-1815 or so in Tennessee. The last we have of him was in 1880 when his wife died in Conway county, Arkansas. I am wondering if he followed his son to IT. Again, Thanks for all your help. Gary Wilson
