Hello List- I am writing for advice! In researching my GG-Grandfather, Monroe DAVIS d 3-27-34 at Blackwell, DESSA from the public library was able to help me find an obit! Yaaay and many thanks to Dessa! She further advised me to contact ROBERTS &SONS Funeral Home, which I did......but unfortunately, I was told that they didn't begin saving their hard records until 1935.....nothing on Monroe Davis in 1934, though Roberts Chapel performed the services.... I was hopeful to find the funeral records of Monroe in 1934, but I am more desperate to find records or obit of his wife, Sarah (McHenry) DAVIS, who died in 1912. I keep thinking her obit or record holds many clues to their 5 children who died before 1900 and possibly clues to her MCHENRY family. Since both Monroe & Sarah died in Blackwell and their services were held there, I hope to find something, but where? Both bodies were taken to Ames Cemetery in Ames, OK for burial after Blackwell services. From the stone of Sarah in Ames, I know only that she died in 1912. From family story, it is believed her death occurred in the winter. That is as much as I know. I tried Ames for info and now Blackwell....bummed. Any advice or direction would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Marla
