Gregory Services: Sat., July 14, 11 a.m. Memorial services will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, Saturday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m. for Ellen C. Gregory, who passed away July 11, 2001, in Visalia California. Ellen Gregory was born October 19, 1915 in Kildare, Oklahoma. She was a star athletic in her youth, excelling in high jumping and basketball. In her senior high school year she led her team to the Kansas State Womens Basketball Championship. She was an avid golfer and archer and competed at Bridge at the international level. She loved to travel, visiting historical sites throughout Europe and Asia. When she was not playing bridge she painted and communicated with family and friends throughout the world by e-mail. According to her, the time she spent as a pre-school teacher in Bakersfield was the most precious and endearing time of her life. She loved children and worked hard to ensure that they had the opportunity to succeed. Survivors include sons Donald and Ke! nneth Gregory; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
