Hi, All. We've been doing lookups on the Kay County page for over a year now from a copy of the "Kay County Honor Roll and Service Record" of WWI veterans that was generously given to me by Allene Niehaus. There were hundreds of entries, with pictures, personal and service information on most veterans. There are also some pictures of nurses, people who supported the war effort in some way, and pictures of mothers who lost their sons in the war. The veterans are mostly Kay County residents, but many were born elsewhere or joined from other Oklahoma counties and states (a lot from Kansas) to serve in the Kay County units. A few months ago, Vicki Ebert offered to scan in her copy so that we could have both the pictures and service records online. I'm pleased to announce that all the scanning is done and I have just completed linking the scans to the names in the index.
