Posted on: Kay County, Ok Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Kay/24 Surname: Brown ------------------------- I am looking for a Dessa, Dessie,or variation, Brown. She lived in Apperson,OK in Kay County during the 1930s. She supposedly had a daughter born around 1937.
Hi, All. In addition to the new surnames and queries, we have a couple of new additions. One is a web page with several pictures of Uncas school children in the 1920s and 1930s that were contributed by Vera Luce. Vera was able to have her mother, Nellamae Pasley identifie many of the children. If you can identify any of the others, we'd be happy to hear from you (and put a "mailto" link to you if you're researching that surname). The other is that we have a new lookup person, Bonnie Johnson, who has been digging in her cemetery book like a person possessed <g>. All of her lookups are now posted to the Gleanings page, as will be future lookups. So keep checking back. Also, one reminder. When using the search engine on the main Kay County page, try as many alternate spellings as you can think of. "Knot evrbody wuz a gud splr". And, as always, if you have pictures, stories, bios or anything else you think might be of interest about Kay County, I would love to hear from you. Hi List- I am new to the list, and in search of DAVIS, MCHENRY, and BRADFORD information. My GG-Grandfather was Monroe DAVIS. He lived at Blackwell from abt 1910 until his death there in March 1934. His Undertaker from Blackwell was J.R. ROBERTS. Monroe was taken to Ames, OK (Major County) for burial at the Ames Cemetery. I would like to obtain Funeral & Burial Records, and an Obit. Any direction would be appreciated. Monroe's wife was Sarah (MCHENRY) DAVIS, who died at Blackwell in 1912. I would like to obtain her Funeral Records and Obituary, but I have no idea where to go. I also have no exact date of death, complicating matters further. She was buried at Ames Cemetery in Ames, OK and her stone reads 1912. Monroe & Sarah DAVIS had a foster/adopted daughter, named Alva M. BIRCHFIELD, who attended school at Blackwell. Per census, she was 16 in 1910. I believe she would have graduated abt 1912 or 1913. Can anyone tell me about school records for Blackwell, Kay County? Alva married to Elmer H. BRADFORD who was a Plumber in Blackwell for many years and had his own business. They had 3 children, Harry, Birdenia and Onis BRADFORD. Elmer and Alva (BIRCHFIELD) BRADFORD died at Bethany and are buried at Kay County. I am interested in any further BRADFORD info. Best Wishes, Marla
