Hi everyone I'm new to this list. I'm looking for my grandmothers fathers family. My fathers cousin recently wrote him indicating that my grandmother was born in Blackwell. We have a 1910 census showing her brother at age 1 year 3 months in Stilwell. She also believed he was born in Blackwell. My grandmother was born Theo Wilson in 12/1911-1912 Her parents were Darious Iven "Charlie" Wilson and Essie Mullen. Darious was a wife beater and my fathers cousin remembers hearing stories of Essie's family coming to Blackwell to remove Essie and the three children as she was afraid of Darious. Darious then separated and left the family. We don't know when this occurred but I do have a 1920 census of Boone county Arkansas showing "Charlie" Wilson as head of the house hold with wife Essie and the three children. The 1910 census of Stilwell, Ok. indicates that Darious "Charlie" Wilson was on his second marriage. Does anyone know anything about this family. Who Darious's siblings may be. His parents were George and Marthie Wilson. Marthie may have been Cherokee Indian. Who Darious's first wife was? And where did he go after he left the family. For obvious reasons the three children never ever spoke of their father and step-father. Family members still alive who may know the story get extremely upset at the mention of his name and refuse to talk about him. Can anyone shed some light on this guy? Really need your help out there, Roberta

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} JANET TAYLOR LIDDLE WEBSTER Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 10:14:30 -0800 From: NANCYH427@aol.com To: OKKAY-L@rootsweb.com Hi there, I tried to join this list last night and got a strange message stating you didn't know what to do with me. The message also gave me instructions on how to join, which was what I was trying to do. Trouble is, I had done just what the message said, on my first try. I did try again, who knows? Anyhow, I am looking for information on JANET TAYLOR LIDDLE WEBSTER (Jessie), born on Jan 4, 1869 in Leith, Midlothian, Scotland, moved to Churchill, OH in 1871 with her family, married to one JOSEPH E. WEBSTER (date and place unknown), and living in or near Ponca City, Kay Co, OK in 1908. I'll take any leads or suggestions. Cemeteries? Birth records? Death records? Census data? How do I research those from here in Pennsylvania? What I really want is cousins. My grandfather and Jessie were the only of their siblings who married. I've tracked down everyone else. Jessie alone is a complete unknown to me. Nance
Hello from a newbie on this list, I just recently found some family information about my Great Aunt, JESSIE LIDDLE. Her full name was JANET TAYLOR LIDDLE. She was born on Jan 4, 1869 in Leith, Midlothian, Scotland. She came to Churchill, Ohio, USA with her family in 1871. At some time (unknown date and place) she married a GEORGE E. WEBSTER. I have a quit-claim document concerning family land in Churchill, Ohio, which was notarized in Ponca City, OK in 1908. It was signed by both JESSIE and JOSEPH E. WEBSTER, which leads me to believe they lived there at that time. JESSIE is a "lost" relative. Until I started rooting around in the family forest, I didn't even know she existed. My grandfather, ADAM LIDDLE, also had 5 brothers, I have burial dates and places for 3 of them. It would seem they never married. JESSIE is my main hope for cousins. Any suggestions about how to find birth and death records, cemetery information, obits, anything? I live in western Pennsylvania, and doubt I'll get to Oklahoma any time soon, so I have to do most of this on the net. Any and all help greatfully accepted. Nance Liddle (nancyh427@aol.com)

Hi everyone! Does anyone on this list know where to find a listing of burials in the Ponca City IOOF Cemetery. If anyone does have this listing could you tell me any burials with the surname WIGGINS. If not, what is the best way to get a listing? Thank you! Ginette
Darlene, here are the Wheelers founds in Blackwell IOOF Cem as of 1978, from the book Cemetery Inscriptions, Kay Co, Okla, by Pioneer Genealogical Society of Ponca City, Okla Remember, the listings are alphabetical within each cemetery, so persons of the same name may not necessarily be related and/or buried in the same plot or adjacent to one-another. Some notations were made by the canvassers when there were indications of "husband' and "wife", etc. Addie Wheeler 1870-1948 Claude J Wheeler Aug 17 1903 Dec 29 1963 ch Emma, Claude, Jr, dale, Lillie, Billie, Doran, Shelia Commy Wheeler 1894-1932 Harriet Virginia Wheeler Sep - June 18 1926 Lawrence H Wheeler 1883-1955 w Emma P: Mason Minerva J Wheeler Oct 30 1909 Aug 28 1976 (children list same as with Claude J) Minnie A Wheeler 1870-1961 Perry S Wheeler 1865-1931 Thomas A Wheeler Feb 2 1909 Dec 19 1975 (w Rachel P, b Nov 9 1916; marry Nov 14 1937) Terry Mac Wheeler Aug 10 1943 Nov 5 1943 parents Mr & Mrs Thomas A Wheeler Bonnie Johnson @ Wichita, Ks, New Web Site Address, http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~grandpasletters/ A collection of 1890-1920 family letters and photographs
