Services were held at Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Madill, Oklahoma, Monday, October 12, 1998 at 10 a.m. Interment was at Mannsville Cemetery in Mannsville, Johnston Co., Oklahoma. Hubert Smith of Jal, NM officiated. Eulogy and family memories were delivered by Sherry Morton. > > Clyde was born March 26, 1925, in the Bethel community, Marshall Co., Oklahoma to James Roy Morgan and Mattie Pearl Altum Morgan. He married Peggy Jean Stilley, October 2, 1948 in Rockwall, Texas. He is survived by his wife of the home, his son Clyde Junior (Judie) Morgan of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Sherry (Lance) Morton of Stanton, Texas; and Karen (Clifford) Palmer of Midland, Texas. Six grandchildren: Lisa (Tad) Bush and Erin Morgan of Lubbock, Texas; Dustin and Lindsay Palmer of Midland, and Ryan and Deidre Morton of Stanton. One great-grandson, Jacob Bush of Lubbock. Brothers: Ernest Morgan of Wilmer, Texas, Dick Morgan, Henry Morgan and James Morgan of Madill, Oklahoma and Don Morgan of Gainesville, Texas. One sister, Thelma Gentry of Pueblo, Colorado. He and Peggy lived in Dallas and Kermit, Texas, before moving to Jal, NM where they lived for 35 years. In the early years, Clyde owned a series of service stations and later was employed with Union Texas Petroleum Corp. in Jal where he retired in 1985.
