He was my great granddaddy and it is thought that he was born and raised in Johnston County. He had brother James David Jernigan, two sisters Flora and Lola. Great Great Grandmother died when Lola was about 2 or 3 years old meaning problably between 1898 and 1902. The children were split up. Lola went to live with Ann and Atlas Johnson of Johnston county and Flora went to stay with Betty and Ransom Godwin of Johnston County. The only connection I can find is that Ann and Betty were Jernigans before they were married and they were sisters. I do not know my great great grandmothers name or anything about her. They think that the boys went to stay with their grandparents, but again I have no information on who they were either. If anyone has any information on any of these people or know the where abouts of any of the descendents of the Johnsons or Godwins PLEASE let me know. Thanks Teresa Benson sting@duplinnet.com
