Hi Johnson's lists, I am just wondering if you can help me. Where on the world is Center Hill Cemetery located at? What town will you call that? Any infor. that you can shed light will be much appreciated. Thanks. Teresa
Thank Wendy for writing me back. I believe Folsom and Kenefic is right on Johnson and Bryan county line. I have check it out and it show that Folsom, Kenefic is on Johnson County. But if you do have have that, can you check out for my great grandparents and my granny. They was in Collins County in Texas, in 1900, then they moved to Oklahoma. Do not know when they move to Oklahoma. That is why I am writing to you to see if you can help me. I only just know they were living in Kenefic and Folsom, Okla. John Henry Carter, born in Illinois His 1st wife is Mary Carter, born in Illinois. She was with him in Texas, and she had divorced him. I do not know when she divorced him, whether in Texas or Oklahoma. But John Henry Carter had remarried again and we do not his 2nd wife's name. Thank you SO much -- this is the family mother remembers so well and the family from whom so many in that area, including her dad (Miles Ellison Smith), rented farms and farm land from. Too bad that it didn't list the land he owned. The way mother remembers it they had a lot of land and were good with it, and with the people who tenant farmed it. I'd sure like to hear from anyone who is kin to these people! Guess the Hobbses were in Old Mill Creek at the time and the Waggoners were in Scullin. Mother would have been born about this time and I've always gotten Murray and Johnston Counties mixed up -- our families have lived all over that area :-( confusing for someone who has only seen pictures of the area. THANKS You've done so much and it's much appreciated. If your Whites came from GA, please stop by my photo album http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cousins/photolinks-alt.html and take a look in the document section . . . the surname White shows up there. I'd like to know your opinion. Posted on: Johnston County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Johnston/653 Surname: UPCHURCH ------------------------- Looking for information on HENRY ALLAN UPCHURCH (born 1901). Know that he was married near Brown Store in Randolph. Believe he may have been shot and killed in Johnston county in 1936 or 37 in an argument over a honey tree.
The townships are a tad confusing on this census as they went into Wards, etc. Those names were not used however.
To K. McGee: On the Indian portion of the census: Rowe, Clyde W., head, w, 37, m1, 11 yrs., TN TN TN Letitia, wife, IN, 33, m1, 11 yrs., mother of 4, 4 living, OK KY OK Rena, daughter, IN, 10, OK TN OK Alarice, son, IN, 9, OK TN OK Vera, daughter, IN, 7, OK TN OK Lera, daughter, IN, 4, OK TN OK Enumerated in April, SD 4, ED 123, Sht. 17A CD Page 225A Gibbs Township, Mill Creek Town Column 44, can't read what it is has the dates for each Indian. 1903, 1903, 1903, 1906, 1907 They are Chickasaw. I thought they were in the census twice, the second being the clarification of their tribal information but I was wrong, they are listed on their own sheets. Sorry about that. There were two Smith names, one is a widow and the other was not Miles E. Smith. No Waggoners, Hobbs', in the entire township of Gibbs.
To Harold Bowerman: M. Thomas in Tishomingo I had said earlier in a private e-mail to you that I didn't find an M. Thomas, well I checked again... Thomas, Mary, head, f, w, 44, wd, mother of 3, 3 living, MS MS MS Lemuel W., son, m, w, 19, s, OK GA MS Beatrice, daughter, f, w, 9, s, OK GA MS that was the only one I found
1910 Thomas Township Village of Milburn Blounk, Hugh T., head, male, white, 33, m1, 1 year, TX AR TN Edg(can't read rest of name), wife, female, white, 27, m1, 1, mother of 1, 1 child living, TX VT MS Hellen, daughter, female, white, 1/12, OK TX TX
I am also looking for the Whites in Johnston Co. and would like to know of the White in Ravia Cem. Juanita Wood

I didn't have to go to the records for this one as I already have it in my family files. To James Young: I will look and see about those two towns, Folsom and Kenefic.
This reminds me, how does OK show the status of a person being Native American in such lists? I've heard of the Southeast calling them anything from white to black to mulatto on their lists. I doubt that the Rowe mentioned in this list is the one my mother remembers from her youth since he apparently was b. WA, but what does US mean for his mother?
