His name is listed on the Tishomingo City Cemetery Inscription list, in Johnston Co., OK. along with a Jewel Ballard, a Cora E. Ballard and a Wiley L. Ballard. There are birth & death dates on all of the Inscriptions listed on-line except Devo's. He is related to my husband. He was married to a Lula Mae Whatley in the 1920's. I have become interested in finding out more about my grandmother. I knew her as Constance Williams and for my whole life she lived in the Detroit, MI, area until her death in 1987. I know she was born on Apirl 19, 1902 as Constance Smith in Tishomingo, OK. I also know that she graduated from Murray State School of Agriculture. I am desiring to find out her background in Oklahoma and what the world was like there during those early years of the 20th century. George Caleb Hicks was born abt 1829 In VA (maybe NC ?) He married Martha King. He died in Johnson Co OK in in 1899 and is buried in the Little New York Cemetery near Tishamingo OK. His daughter married James Lindsey Carpenter. They are living in the house with his parents Robert and Amanda C. Carpenter listed on the 1910 census of Johnson Co OK. Both James Lindsey and Lilly Carpenter have died by 1917. Three of their children are listed in the school records of Springtown. OK. Atoka Co in 1917. Lilly's brother George Cicero Hicks is named as their parent guardin. Any information abt the parents of George Caleb Hicks will be appreciated. And when and where Lilly and James L Carpenter are buried.

He and his family are listed in the household of his father Robert Hicks and Amanda C ? on the 1910 census for Johnson Co OK.
