I am in search of info on the Payton surname. Walter was alloted land there, east of town, I think. His dad, Ned Payton, was my grandfather. I am unable to find any info on Ned's forefathers. Were there any records submitted by Walter that may help? Thanks. Bill...I have done a search of all of my Jeff Co census files and found no Paytons. I also searched for Peyton. I did find a Payton Waid in Ryan. Any connection?
