    2. Grover Anderson
    3. Posted on: Jefferson Co. Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Jefferson/500 Surname: Anderson, Edwards ------------------------- I have looked for this cemetery in the last couple of years without any luck. It was probably originally called the Perry Grove Cemetery and was later know as the Old Waurika Cemetery. It ceased to be used about 1910 when the new Waurika Cemetery started being used. I never could find an "exact" location to look but the best description I found was directly east of the stockyards and south of the hospital. When I walked that pasture I was looking a little south of the stockyards. I thought I might try again someday, but have not been back to Waurika recently.

She died 16 FEB 1929 in Wichita Falls but the Certificate of Death indicates burial 17 FEB 1929, Waurika, OK., Merkle UND. Co.. >> It is entirely possible that Merkle UND. Co. was a Wichita Falls company, and that they simply prepared and transported the body to Waurika. I would suggest you check and see if there is (or was) such a company there. The present funeral home in Waurika is Dudley. Prior to that it was Worley, and they were around for a number of years. I am not old enough to know if there was ever a Merkle, but the name certainly doesn't sound familiar. Sheridan
