It was the mid-1940s that I was at that school--during the WW II period. One other thing I remember, the school ran out of money and the teachers didn't get paid for the last month. Don't know if my mother ever did receive that payment, but no one cares any longer! Don't know if the school lasted very long after that or not. They had all twelve grades there.

My mother taught school at the consolodated school there in the 1940s--late forties. I was in the 7th grade that year. There was the school, a service station with groceries, and several houses where some of the teachers lived.

Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Jefferson/10572 Surname: KING, MEYERS, LAWS ------------------------- Hello: I am trying to find a cemetery and grave location near Ryan, OK, where my Great Grandfather Willie (William) Fletcher KING is buried. He moved from Claiborne County, TN to Oklahoma in the late 1890s with his wife, Martha Elizabeth LAWS-KING, and their two sons, Otis B. KING and Elard KING. Willie bought a farm near Ryan, but rode throughout the Indian territory as a traveling salesman and trader. We know he died of pneumonia on May 24, 1902. We don't know where he is buried. Shortly after Willie died, Martha married Vincent MEYERS. Martha had two children, both listed as "born in Indian territory, Ryan, OK" Their first baby - Lara S. MEYERS (b. 1903 - died - 1903?) Lara may be buried near Willie? The second child was Gertrude MEYERS, born 1905. The family moved on to California about 1907. Would appreciate any help on anything about the family. Thank you. =========================================================== Vincent MEYERS (son of Jefferson Yank MEYERS & Susannah J.
