Newspaper, July 13, 2000 Mildred STEVENSON Funeral services for Mildred STEVENSON were held July 12 at the First Assembly of God Church, Okemah with Steve LAWRENCE officiating. She was born Dec. 28, 1919 in Stigler to Earl SMITH and Georgia COUCH and died July 9 in Tulsa at the age of 80 years. She was married to Bill STEVENSON on Nov. 2, 1943 in Tulsa. She was a truck driver and retired from E. L. POWELL Trucking in Tulsa in 1986. Mrs. STEVENSON had lived in and around Okemah for the past 40 years. She loved sewing, gardening and homemaking. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clarence and Eugene. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; one son, Jimmie Joe STEVENSON of Tulsa; two daughters, Sandra L. STAFFORD of Wetumka and Linda AMSLER of Longview, Tx.; three brothers, Fines SMITH, Charles Ray SMITH and Jack Hubert SMITH of Okemah; three sisters, Margie FERRIS and Francis WALLS of Okemah and Virginia Pauline FERRIS of Wetumka; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several other relatives. Interment was in the Highland Cemetery, Okemah, under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home of Okemah.
