Meredith ROBINSON officiating. He was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Holdenville to Henry Robert and Annie STILLWELL and died Nov. 5 at the age of 79. A lifetime resident of Holdenville, he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and met a lifelong friend in W. C. TURNER; he shared the same birth date. Mr. STILLWELL was an agent for Oklahoma Farmer’s Union Insurance Company, owned and operated an income tax preparation and bookkeeping service in Holdenville and was a cattle order buyer. Some of his most enjoyable years were spent on the rodeo circuit as a calf roper and shared many times with his special friend, Sonny OLIPHANT. Mr. STILLWELL served as the first secretary of the I.RA. and I.F.R. and was a gold card member of the I.P.R.A. and in later years a member of N.O.T.R.A. He was also secretary of several other Oklahoma and Arkansas rodeo companies. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marie SKAGGS. Survivors include his wife, Wandajo, of the home; a daughter, Jan LYNN of Dallas Tx.; sons, Gary and Rhonda STILLWELL of Holdenville and Robert Van and Adriene STILLWELL of Noble; one granddaughter, Sami HARRIS of Wichita, Ks.; one sister and brother-in-law, Lorene and Roland SATTEEFIELD of Holdenville; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Roy MACK and Debbie HAMMONS and Wendell and Juree DARNELL; and five step-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one “darn Good” roping horse, Babe, of the original home place. Interment will be at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
