Dear List Members, I see my posting regarding the lost cemetery found near Wetumpka is causing some confusion. I took the information regarding the cemetery from The Oklahoman, date June 17th 2002 after this article was brought to my attention by a list member. http://www.newsok.com/cgi-bin/show_article?ID=875771&pic=none&TP=getarticle I also checked the Hughes County, OKGenWeb Project and saw that this cemetery is listed on it, but is not surveyed or are there photos of this Oklahoma treasure. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okhughes/hughcem.htm My call for help in surveying this cemetery and photographing its existence was and is because, I, as the many volunteers who desire to record and make available Oklahoma's history to our fellow researchers saw this need and asked for help. I have spoken with Linda Simpson the Oklahoma Coordinator of Saving Graves and she is also interested in the survey of this cemetery as well as Tammie and Bob Chada of the Oklahoma Survey and Virtual Cemetery website. I am sure the Hughes County Archivist would also like to obtain this data for the Hughes County Oklahoma USGenWeb Archives Project, as well as the Hughes County Oklahoma AHGP Project and the Hughes County OKGenWeb Project. I feel that each of the above sites have one goal in mind and that is to share the wealth of Oklahoma genealogical data with anyone who desires it. As far as I am concern, it does not matter if there is a duplication ... the sin would be if no one had the data.
