BLASENGAME Funeral services for James L. BLASENGAME, a lifetime resident of Stuart, were held Jan. 24 at the Stuart gymnasium with Bro. Bill BRATCHER and Rev. Bart PATTERSON officiating. He was born April 12, 1930 in Stuart to Samual B. and Ollie A. (ELLIOTT) BLASENGAME and died Jan. 20 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 70. Mr. BLASENGAME was reared in the Stuart area and also attended Stuart schools, later graduating in 1947 as class Valedictorian. He married Wonda Ruth SUTTERFIELD on Aug. 30, 1949 at McAlester. They made their residence in Stuart and also lived in Bakersfield, Ca. for six months, until moving back to Stuart. Mr. BLASENGAME had worked as a truck driver for many years until becoming a salesman for Big V Feed, Inc. in McAlester until his retirement in July of 2000. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Stuart. Mr. BLASENGAME was preceded in death by his parents, Samual and Ollie BLASENGAME; on brother, Samual Charles BLASENGAME; one sister, Shirley BLASENGAME; and one infant son. Survivors include his wife, Wonda, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Mike INGRAM of Zachary, La.; four sons and daughter-in-law, James D. and Sharon BLASENGAME of Paris, Tx., Tommy and Charlen BLASENGAME, Terry andTracy BLASENGAME and Tracy and Dawn BLASENGAME, all of Stuart; three sisters, Iona HALL of LaJolla, Ca., Jodene and J. D. HUTCHINS and Virginia and Wayne MOONEY, all of Moore; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were Bill SIMMONS, Wayne HULL, Jack HARRISON, Gene CLIFT, Elvin LINDLEY, Roger SHIELDS, William VERNER and Bud MCCOY. Interment was in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Stuart under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
