I should have been clear: I was born there in 1943 while my father was in Europe in the Army. My mother, Margaret Roberts, my grandparents Horace and Ora Grigsby Roberts, their daughters, and who knows who else, went to California to work in the war industry. I grew up in central California, in and around Modesto, and only visited Wetumka much later, as an adult. I went by the old Roberts farmhouse where I was born. I've been to it a few times, for the Roberts reunions in Ada, at my father's funeral, and a couple of personal visits. But I haven't lived there since infancy. I had kin there a few years ago, but I don't know anyone there now.
