Web Staunton will officiate. Mrs. Sutherland, 89, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (Aug. 29, 2002) at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Portland. She was born Thelma Lee Cummings on July 4, 1913, in Holdenville, Okla. In 1948, in Reno, Nev., she married K.C. Sutherland, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Portland. She worked as a welder in the shipyards in Portland and in Long Beach, Calif., during World War II. She retired from the Rogue Valley Manor in 1965. Mrs. Sutherland enjoyed ceramics and custom lapidary, receiving several awards. She was affiliated with the Roxy Ann Rock Club in Medford. Survivors include a daughter, Evylan Statler, Eagle Point; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Earl Pidcock; two brothers and four sisters. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
