She was born May 5, 1919 in Nowata County, the daughter of Leonard Marion and Lula Mae (GREEN) PARRETT, and died Jan. 28 in the Arkansas City Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She grew up in the rural Nowata area and received her education in a rural school. After she left school, she helped her parents on their farm. On Feb. 25, 1935, she and Thomas Edward SORRELL were married at Nowata. They made their home in and around Alluwe. In 1955 they moved to Sedan, Ks., moving a year later to Newkirk where she has since lived. Mrs. SORRELL was a member of the Calvary Temple and the Pentecostal Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family and her house plants. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 14, 1990; one daughter, Shirley; her parents; one brother William; and one sister, Rebecca. She lived much of her life in the Weleetka area, later relocating to Arisona where she also lived several years before returning to Weleetka. She moved to Wetumka when the Birchwood Apartments were built. She had most recently been living at Rainbow Terrace in Weleetka. She was of the Baptist faith. One of the greatest joys in her life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is remembered as an excellant seamstress and loced to look through the many photographs she had of her family and friends. She was proud of her relationship with Randy TRAVIS and had also been friends with the late Elvis PRESLEY. She was preceded in death by two husbands, a son and a daughter. STANFORD Funeral services for John C. STANFORD, longtime Holdenville community leader, were held Jan. 22 at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe ROBINSON officiating. He was born JUly 19, 1944 in Holdenville to Clayton Carl and Geraldine (MUSSELMAN) SRANFORD and died Jan. 18 in Shawnee at the age of 56. Mr. STANFORD graduated from Holdenville high school in 1962 and attended East Central State College and earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1967. He began work at Stanford Drug immediately after graduation. He was also employed by the board of directors of Holdenville General Hospital in October, 1968 as a consultant and part-time pharmacist and in 1988 he received the 20 year service pin. Mr. STANFORD purchased Stanford Frug in July, 1975 and in 1979 he purchased Consumers Discount Pharmacy and went into partnership with Robert HURST in Comsumers in 1980. He was also on staff on a consultative basis of area hospitals and was a lifetime member of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association, the National Rifle Association, the National Eagle Scout Association, and the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy Alumni Association. His professional memberships were with the Oklahoma Pharmaccutical Association, the American Pharmaccutical Association and the National Association of Retail Druggist, American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Oklahoma Society of Retail Druggists, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the OPhA district president on two occasions, and the Oklahoma Pharmacy Hertiage Foundation. Mr. STANFORD was involved in the community. He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Elks Lodge, the Retail Merchants Association, the United Fund board, the Wolverine Booster Club, the OU Sooner Club, the OU Tip-in Club, the Oklahoma president and vice-president of the HOldenville High School Alumni Association and was a member of the OU Touchdown Club, the Holdenville Chamber of Commerce, Tri-City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and B.A.S.S. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the OPhA Legislative Liaison Committee, served for five years on the Holdenville City Council and was a member of the Holdenville Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies were golf and folllowing the OU Sooners. He was dedicated to the Little League programs by serving as coach and referee for the Pee Wee Football League during its entire existence. He had a special place in his heart for children, especially his two granddaughters, and left behind many little friends. Mr. STANFORD was married to Bonnie ABERNATHY in Eureka Springs, Ar. in July, 1993 and they were known for their extensive Christmas decorating. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine, on Jan. 20, 1987 and his father, Clayton, in August, 1961. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of the home; children, Randy HULIN and wife, Kay, of Edmond, Sheli STANFORD, also of Edmond, Tobi HAMMER of McAlester and Casey HAMMER of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Charles STANFORD and wife, LuAnn, of Tulsa; grandchildren, Parker HULIN of Edmond and Madison HAMMER of McAlester, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were John ALFORD, John SHEPHERD, Eddie LUCAS, Jerry HULIN, Andy FREEMAN, Robert HURST, Rick HURLEY and Bobby SMITH. Holdenville Fire Department werved as honorary pallbears. Interment was in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.

She was born June 29, 1927 in Jacksonville, Tx. and died Jan. 26 in Lake Jackson, Tx. She attended Tucula school until she married Robert Brady DAILEY on Aug. 13, 1942 in Teague, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chat and Jean ODON in 1982. Survivors include her husband, Robert Brady DAILEY of Lake Jackson, Tx.; a daughter, Linda Sue OTT and husband, Roger, of Kansas City, MO.' a son, Robert Lee DAILEY and wife, Michaela, of Central, Tx.; and eight grandchildren, Jennifer GONZALES, Jeff DAILEY, Robert Clayton DAILEY, Michael Shane DAILEY, and Joshua, Sarah, Caleb BRADY, and Isaac CHIN; and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Sarah GONZALES; family friend, Mary DAILEY; aniece, Linda MORRISON ; and a nephew, Tim MORRISON. BROWN Funeral services for Hiram J. BROWN were held Jan. 30 at the Hudson-Phillips Chapel with Larry LEWIS officiating, assisted by Bro. Robert EBERLE. He was born Nov. 26, 1906 in Vernon, Tx. to William and Cordelia BROWN and died Jan. 27 in the Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 94. He came with his family to Hughes county as a young boy. He grew up in the Wetumka and Fairview areas and attended Fairview school. Mr. BROWN married Zelpha PRICE in November of 1933 in Holdenville. They lived on the farm near Holdenville until the 1940's when they moved to California. Mr. BROWN was a welder and became a leaderman in th shipyards during World War II. After the war they returned to the Holdenville area where they have livedsince that time. He was retired from Rousch Machine Shop in Wewoka. He was a member of the 4th and Broadway Church of Christ. Mr. BROWN was preceded in death by three brothers, Drew BROWN, Beecher BROWN and Mitchell BROWN; and four sisters, Stella TAYLOR, Mattie ABNEY, May PETTY and Sota HARWELL. Survivors include his wife, Zelpha BROW of the home in Holdenville; one sister, Oleta OZMENT of Fox; a sister-in-law, Marie BROWN of Holdenville; a brother-in-law, Ray HARWELL, also of Hooldenville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews, Billy BROWN, Dale PRICE, David Lee TAYLOR, Phillip MARSHALL, Tom BROWN, and Bob BROWN. Honorary pallbeareres were Harmon THETFORD, Bill COLLINS, Les STEELE, Sam PAYLOR , Gene HOLLIMAN, Bill WOOTEN and Loyal CONN. Interment was in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Don Q BROWN, pastor, officiating. She was born Aug. 12, 1909 in Okmulgee to Ed and Ethel SWAIN and died March 17 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 91. She was reared in the Okmulgee and Henryetta areas and was a graduate of Henryetta high school. Following graduation, she attended business college in Tulsa and then was invited by F. D. HALL to work for the Wetumka National Bank. It was in Wetumka she fell in love with the banker's son, Joseph HALL and they eloped to Van Buren, Ar. on Jan. 1, 1933. The couple nade Wetumka their home. Mrs. HALL made banking her lifetime career. She later was employed in Holdenville and finally at the BAnk of Commerce in Wetumka until she retired. She enjoyed handiwork, travel and was active in community activities. Mrs. HALL was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in November, 1972, and his partnts E. D. and B. Mae HALL. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Dell and Murray MCMILLIAN of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Joseph and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Rebecca, Kevin, Andy and Joshua; along with other relatives. A private burial will follow under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
