Is Francis Marion Ward listed in any cemetery record index or funeral home index in Hughes County? He was born in 1870 in Meigs County, TN. Is there a record for Jessie Melton Ward or Willie Ward in any of the cemetery indexes? Francis Marion visited in TN in the 1940s. He was in his seventies then. He lived in Wetumka. Thanks for any help on where this family is buried and any death dates. Betty Carolyn Ward Betty Carolyn Ward P. O. Box 22 Decatur, TN 37322 wardb@ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us

I don't have much knowledge of the Gerty area until about the 50's. If you have a minister listed on the marriage certificate and where it was to be registered that might help. Church records might help if there are any to be found. Do you have that information? Vickie Neill Taylor flip@okplus.com
Sorry to be so slow to respond. I've been behind lately. I really don't have any thing that goes back that far. The courthouse won't have anything before 1907. The newspapers begin about 1908 I think it is. Sorry I'm not much help to you. Vickie Neill Taylor flip@okplus.com

I found my Grandfather and Grandmothers marriage certificate and it states they were married in Gerty, Oklahoma in 1900. He was Zack Willis Brown and She was Willie Mae Langston. Zack was 26 and Willie Mae was 15 according to the marriage certificate. Zack was supposed to be a Cowboy on some of the ranches in the area. If you can help me with any information on the two families please do so. I can find nothing about either family. Some of the family Brown lived in the Non area around the same time. This is information given by a cousin. Contact me at wbrown@netcommander.com.
