    3. I just found some family (MARTIN) in Hughes County from about 1900 to 1920 and I was wondering what records might exist, if any. When did Hughes County begin taking birth, marriage, and death records? Thanks, Mike Gregory Bakersfield, California genealogy@bak.rr.com http://home.bak.rr.com/mg/

    1. [OKHUGHES] Lookups Needed - Will Pay
    2. Carla Tate
    3. I am looking for death records of any kind (including obituaries) for James K. Bolton who died April 4, 1923 and his wife Ella E. Kimbrough Bolton who died ll/30/1922. I know she was buried in the Dustin Cemetery and I suspect he was also. I am trying to find out his mother's maiden name and information on his and Ella's children. One of the children was Laura Bolton (Mrs. Simeon Hester) who was living in Hughes Co. when her parents died and was probably taking care of them. James K. was a farmer and a sometimes Baptist minister, as was his son Doctor Weatherford Bolton. I would be willing to pay for someone to do this research and for photocopying and mailing costs. Thanks for any help - I live several thousand miles away. 1. [OKHUGHES] Re: O'KELLY, HILL, BARTSHE
    2. I am also trying to find Oklahoma O'Kelly's. My Great grandmother was called Neacie Adeline O'Kelly, and was a daughter of Mary Adaline Benham and Thomas Henry O'Kelly. I am unable to find anything about her or any of the other children of Mary Benham and Tom O'Kelly. It sounds like the O'Kelly you are searching for may be related as a brother. My great grandmother also had a sister named "Goldie," whom I met at a Brandenburg family reunion when I was very young (Neacie married Fred Brandenburg). Goldie was the only relative of the O'Kellys that I met or heard about, but it might help you. Neacie was born Aug. 25, 1885, and died April 15, 1988. Goldie was born a few years earlier (1881?) and also lived more than a century. Searches on this site have listed an "Alcie" O'Kelly born the same year as my great grandmother to the same two parents, (this was reported in the Indian Territory Census, Choctaw county, 1900). We don't know if the census taker got the name wron! g, or if something else happened. Anyway, any light you can share on the O'Kelly mystery would be appreciated by my sister and me. Thanks.

    3. Do you remember an HE Berryman of that area? Don't know the name but they pronounced it HE as in both initials said out loud, not he as in the other part of she. I believe his wife's name may have been Gladys? He may have had a daughter or step daughter by the name of Sue. 3. Tammie and I want to thank publicly the many members and volunteers who have made our Website possible. Your names are to numerous to even try to list. If we tried, we would surely leave out some of you. Without the help and dedication of each of you, the Oklahoma Cemeteries Volunteer and Cemetery Inventory webpage would not be what it is today. I am in awe of those who so willing walk the cemeteries, both in the heat and in the cold, fighting chiggers, ticks and snakes, inventorying these sacred grounds of our ancestors and taking pictures of the stones so you and I can find the resting place of our ancestors and gaze upon their names from the comfort of our homes. When I think of the hundreds of e-mails with inventories that Tammie and I have received, the thousands of photos that we have received and continue to receive, those out there, even today, inventorying Oklahoma cemeteries, the willingness of volunteers to search the books and papers they have, to help strangers, I know without a doubt that those on our list and our fellow Oklahoma researchers are a special group of people and Tammie and I feel blessed to be a part of you.
