Hello listers. I am seeking the obit for Thomas Benton Burks. He was married to Lena Calvert. He lived in Grady County for about 40 years. Grandmother said he was a sheriff for awhile, ran a freight wagon business, was a farmer, and worked a cotton gin for Bill Corbett in Woodford for 17 years. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? I am trying to locate descendents of his siblings. They would be Mary, Augusta, Charles M, Laura, Ada (might be Ida married to William Armstrong), Peyton, and Lee. Charles and Ada may be the only ones who moved to OK from MO. Their parents were Lodrick and Permelia Burks. Would appreciate info anyone has about this family and a lookup for the obit. Happy to pay for the lookup. He died on December 9, 1944, in Chickasha. He is buried in Newport Cemetary. Thank you. Betty !
