I am seeking any info on James Robert “Uncle Bob” Blalock, born 1846 birth place Mississippi - death 1925, Marlow (Stephens County) Oklahoma. In 1863 he enlisted and served on the Confederate Side of the Civil War. He was also a member of the “Stonewall Jackson Camp”, of remaining old Confederate soldiers of Marlow, OK and vicinity. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Marlow, OK. James’ siblings are John, Dave, Matt Blalock-Graddens (female) of Gas City, OK & Nan Blalock-Moore of Tecumseh, OK. James was also known in town as “Uncle Bob”. We think his parents are John Blalock and a lady by the last name of Quals/Qualls. And his wife, Louisa Adaline Coats born 1849 birth place unknown - death 1931, Marlow (Stephens County) Oklahoma. Louisa’s siblings are Henry, Matt, Price, Bob & Otis. Louisa’s parents are Sleta Thompson (of Cherokee heritage) and Jim Coats. James and his family are listed in the 1910 Grady County, Rush Springs, Oklahoma Census. James & Louisa's children are as follows: 1. William G. "Will" -(possibly the oldest son). He married Annie _____. Will and Annie lived in Konawa, OK. They had 4-5 children, oldest was named Jessie, then there was Hettie, and boys, Bob, Bryson and one un-named. 2. James Sylvester "Syl" born Feb 1878 - died Texas Jan 1965. He married Allie ____. Syl and Allie had Hettie (who married into the Gray family), Edna, Flora (who married E.D. Wilkes) she died in Missouri, Vonnie and Jewel. Syl and Allie lived near Bovina and Lazbuddie, TX. 3. Bertie (daughter) May have died at age 15. 4. Hinton born Aug 1883, Hunt County, Texas - died Apr 1963, Texas. Married (in 1911,in Rush Springs, Grady County) Rosa Glen/Merritt, she is of Rush Springs, OK. Rosa was also listed inthe 1910 Census for Rush Springs, Grady County as living with her mother Mary Ellen Swope-Merritt and step father Edward Mack Merritt. 5. Walter (son). Born 1867?. Walter married Lela Gray-Darby in 1920. Lela had 2 children already, Evelyn and Florine. Walter and Lela had the following children together Bill, Jack and Jane. Walter died in 1937. Buried in the Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, Stephens County, Oklahoma. Walter was also in the American Expeditionary Forces during WW1, a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge of Marlow, OK. He lived in Marlow, OK for 23 years proceeding his death. 6. Oather Cleburn -possible birthdate 1900. Married Mae/May Faulkner, daughter of Shed Faulkner. Oather lived most of his life is Tell, Childress County, TX. Not sure if they had any children. 7. Sleta (daughter). Named after Louisa’s Mother. She married Tom Hall. Their children were Archie, Bertie, Joe, Alverda, Douglas, Herman and Juanita, all of the children were born in Duncan, OK. Then Tom & Sleta moved to Texico, NM, where they are buried. 8.
