McClain Robert E. McClain, 69, died at his home, 1427 South Sixth Street, at 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon after a three week illness. He had been in failing health for the past four months. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Mrs. Cora Baker, pastor of the Assemby of God Church of Amber, officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery, Chickasha. Born in Arkansas, Mr. McClain moved to the Amber community in 1917. H emoved to Chickasha seven years ago. Survivors include his wife, Arie; one son, Grady of San Jose, California; two daughters, Mrs. Luethel Harris of Chickasha and Mrs. Thelma Whitner of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; two brothers, Emmett and Jim both of Chickasha; and one sister, Mrs. Millie Ballinger of Hanna, Oklahoma." >From the Chickasha Daily Express, Chickasha, Oklahoma, April 8, 1963, page 3. "Mrs. Sarah Arie McClain Mrs. Sarah Arie McClain, 75, 1112 Dakota Street, died about 10 am today in Grady Memorial Hospital. Born June 22, 1886 in Paris, Arkansas, she moved to the Amber community from Hannah i 1917. Her husband, Robert E. Lee McClain, died August 27, 1915. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors are her son, Joe Grady McClain of San Jose, California; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Whitener, of Ninnekah and Mrs. Luethel Harris of Verden; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Fletcher of Stigler, Mrs. Beulah Hodges of Savanna, and Mrs. Alva Shepherd of New Paris, Arkansas; two brothers, ARchie Haggard of Moderia, California and Ernest Haggard also of California. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Browns' Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Rose Hill cenetery, Chickasha. In the same paper as Sarah in a funeral notice for James Washington McClain, 85 of Amber. Do you need the obit for him?
