Hi Gene, I've been going over my genealogy chart of all the Casts that I have and David Escal Cast comes close to the time period. Would you please send me the copy of the information that you have to see if the Cast in question is Escal. Thanks, Mildred Cast ____________________________________________________________ Click to learn about options trading and get the latest information. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/Ioyw6i3m5bixuXnP6sxZgrOiAD4fa00ScVG3jkQazh3wzJ9qzT5GvJ/

The Rush Springs Gazette published a poster from 1914 entitled: Commercial Men of Rush Springs. It had their pictures and the name of their business. If you had a relative that had a business in Rush Springs in 1914 I can copy that picture and send it to you. Gene

Frank signed the papers. I don't know why Viola lists herself as a widow in 1920 but I do know she applied for a CW pension as the widow of her second husband, William Madison Kelley. William Kelley died in Kaufman Co TX, and Viola subsequently married Frank. The pension claim was denied twice. The federal governments stance was that she was the widow of Frank Hobbs, who she said she was divorced from and who she said had died in 1929. These records are available from the OK History Center in OK City. BTW Viola was married first to Connor Pyle in Kaufman Co TX, second William Madison Kelley in Kaufman Co TX, third to Franklin Pierce Hobbs in Kaufman Co TX, The cattle drive story was passed on to me too, but in the version I heard, it was my grandfather, William Thomas Hobbs, who was on the cattle drive where he met and married my grandmother. My family lore has Frank dying in Fort Worth/Dallas area in summer of 1939. I don't have a death date or place referenced for Frank yet but I've been looking for many years. I am a great granddaughter of Frank and his first wife, Sarah Caroline Davis. As far as I know my grandfather, William Thomas Hobbs, was the only child of Frank and Sarah. It's been my experience that some truth is contained in family stories. I'd be happy to compare notes. His son was Martin Luther Hobbs. I am also wondering if any one has any history of cattle drives which orginated around 1910-1920 in the area of Grady, Stephens, Caddo or Jefferson counties. If some one was on a cattle drive did the ranchers keep a log of who went and who came back alive. It is posible that Franklin went out on a cattle dr. and died in route. Can some one also explain to me how it can be that Franklin and wife Mary divorced in 1923 yet she is listed as widow of Franklin in Chickasa city directories and on the census. Just courious. That means that his widow Sarah went to Montana with her second husband Ben Wynn and children, Ida M. and Earl Chitwood/Wynn, then Sarah had a child there by Wynn in 1917 (Mary E.) . Ida Chitwood's marriage was there in 1919. It appears that Ida Chitwood did marry, according to Query dated 12/1/00, by Toni Garza at the Eubanks GenForum site [ http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?Chitwood::eubanks::1098.html ].
