    3. Hi, southeast Oklahoma was cotton country before the Dust Bowl. I know the area around Konawa had a huge amount of cotton in the 1910's and 1920's. My grandmother picked cotton there on her father's farm during the 1920's. Good Luck, Bill

    3. Hi, The only Archer's in Pottawatomie Co., OK that I know of are the ones in Konawa, OK. They cause me no end of grief because my father's mother's family, the Bates, lived there from 1895 to the 1980's. So whenever I'm researching the Bates and run across the Archer's there I have to stop and think about it :-) As far as I know, I'm not related to those Archers. Are these the ones you are looking for? If so, I can do some lookups for you.     3. Hi again Bill, The Archers and Collins have been giving me a headache for a long time also. Maybe you can tell me how to order a newspaper for Pottawatomie Co. My Dad was born in a small town called Asher near Salt Creek in 1904. I have no idea what newspapers were published near there. I sent for land records but the clerk said he dident find anything.
