This is a message that was sent to me some time ago. We didn't find any takers at that time but I thought I would post again in hopes that someone would see this and want the cards. Please forward this message to anyone you think might have an intrest. Vickie, I have in my possession two very old post cards (1 cent variety) that were written in 1916 and 1917. They were discovered either in an old house that we bought back in the 50ies or in the old Odds and Ends Store that we used to operate in Wewoka, OK about the same time that we bought the old house. These postcards have nothing to do with my family and, even though I can not force myself to throw them away, I would love to give them to members of family or their downline if we could locate anyone interested in them. The first one is dated 3-6-1916 It is addressed to Mrs B. H. Calhoun, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, return address is Ed Derrick, Collinsville, Oklahoma and post marked Collinsville, Okla. Mar 6. In his greeting, he calls her sis. The other card (1 cent also) is dated 9-23-1917 and is from the brother to his sister in answer to one that he has received from her. He signs this one the same, Ed. He has added a box number, box 732 at the bottom of the card. It has no return address on it but is also post marked Collinsville Kola, Sep24, 830AM 1917, and is addressed to Mrs. B. H. Calhoun, Okfuskee, Okfuskee Co., Okla. I would appreciate it if you would help me get this info out to the proper web or whatever to get this before the people in hopes that some one would be informed of their existence and availability. Thank you, Vickie Neill Taylor [email protected]
