He was the son of Richard and Minnie Flossie (Kirkland) Hill.He was a resident of Paden, a member of the Paden Holiness Church. Hill retired in 1972 from Tinker Air Force Base, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic.He had lived in Okfuskee County since 1979, having previously lived in Oklahoma City and the Earlsboro area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.During his service, he fought in the following campaigns; Rhineland Ardennes, Northern France and Central Europe. He received the following decorations and citations: EAME Theater Ribbon with Four Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon and the American Theater Ribbon.He married Evelyn Eileen Whisnant on June 20, 1943, in Wichita, Kan.He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Carl Hill on Jan. 21, 1981, three sisters, five brothers and three grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Hill of the home in Paden; one son, Jimmy Hill, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Norma Jean Wheeler, Paden; Mary Ann Epperson, Blanchard; one brother, Ralph Hill, Dale; two sisters, Nellie Duvall, Cabbot, Ark.; Mary Ann Epperson, Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Paden Holiness Church with Bro. Keith Vaughn and Robert Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow in the Dale Cemetery in Dale under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. September 28, 2000 Shawnee News-Star
