Mar. 9, 2000 Norma Lee STEELE Funeral services for Norma Lee STEELE, a long time Holdenville resident, were held March 6 at the East Main Church of Christ in Holdenville with Alan ECK officiating. She was born Feb. 21, 1938 in Wetumka to Clyde and Nina MATHEWS and died March 3 in the St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 62 She had attended schools in Wewoka, California and Texas as a child. She married Kenneth STEELE on Oct. 27, 1953 at Wewoka and they were married for 46 years. They made their residence in Holdenville where they reared five children. Mrs. STEELE had worked at Lillian Russell Clothing, Stanford's Drug Store and the Hughes County Election Board until her retirement on Jan. 31 of this year after 21 years of service. She was a member of the East Main Church of Christ for 32 years. Mrs. STEELE loved her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Nina MATHEWS, on brother, Clyde MATHEWS Jr. and one son-in-law, Mike TAYLOR. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, of the home; five children, Peggy and Charles O'KELLEY of Holdenville, Sherry TAYLOR of Edmond; Justeen and Billy MCCOY of Lamar, Terry and Amber STEELE of Edmond and Kim STEELE of the home; nine grandchildren, Laura and Trentie O'KELLEY, Shawn TAYLOR and his wife, Amy, and Chris TAYLOR, Billy Keith MCCOY, Micheal, Tanner and Scarlett STEELE, Anne-Marie LEONARD; one uncle, Claude MATHEWS of Mustang; two aunts, Helen SUMMERS of Reno, Nv. And Jo CUMMINGS of Graham, Tx. and several other relatives. Pallbearers were Garland WRIGHT, Gary LAVALLEY, David CHAFFIN, Orville REID, Jim BREWER and Cleo ORR. Interment was in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville. Mar. 9, 2000 Eugene H. LARABEE Funeral services for Eugene H. LARABEE were held March 4 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Non with Bill BLAYLOCK, pastor, officiating. He was born Feb. 17, 1944 in Ada to Leonard and Pearl (PETERS) LARABEE and died March 1 in Oklahoma City at the age of 56. Mr. LARABEE worked for over 20 years as a lineman and also ran a backhoe service. He was a member of the Non and Gerty area for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard LARABEE. Survivors include his children, Michelle MAXWELL of Lowell, Ar., Regina LIVELY of Atwood, Kenny LARABEE of Gerty and Mike CAMPBELL of Bailey, Co.; his mother, Nora Pearl (PETERS) LARABEE; brothers and sisters Dorothy COLE of San Diego, Ca. Shirley HARDEN of Gerty, Jerry LARABEE of Missouri and Charles LARABEE, also of San Diego, Ca.; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dale STEWART, Tony STEWART, Ronnie MARTIN, G. H. MOONEY, Melvin TURPIN and Troy NIX. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Hill, Donnie HIGHTOWER, Kenneth WARD, Mervin FULTON, Mitch RANEY and Charles LONG. Interment was in the Non Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
