That's what we were told about my husbands discharge papers just about a month ago in Dallas. He was discharged in 1961 and they said they did not have any room to store them. I have included them with his part of my genealogy records so that there will be some sort of record kept. His records were destroyed when the office they were in burned a few years ago and we were lucky to be able to find his original ones. Maybe it's different in smaller courthouses? I know Dallas and OKC has a good size population.
