Delete this email and then delete any other area that it may be saved on your computer. It wouldn't hurt if you ran a virus scan just in case. This is more than likely a virus that has been going around. I have seen this virus mentioned on other rootsweb lists that I am on in different states. No, it is not coming through Rootsweb as you can't send attachments to their lists. It will appear to be from a Rootsweb list, but it really isn't. I don't quite understand how this virus is going through our genealogy lists, but it is. I guess if this attachment is downloaded it gets into your unread mail then spreads to others without your knowledge. It's a rather nasty little burger. Some have thought it to be an answer to a query and have downloaded the attachment to find it to be the virus. Anyway, it is better to be safe than sorry and what your saying looks like what I've seen on the other lists. Paula/Oregon
This morning my antivirus software InnoculateIt caught email of "cunningham1234" and reported Win32.BadTrans.13312 worm in attachment called fun.pif (BAD STUFF!) InnoculateIt isolated attachment, I deleted file, then emptied trash. Deleted email and emptied email trash immediately. Ran InnoculateIt to make sure the worm is gone. InnoculateIt is free antivirus at http://antivirus.cai.com/ Susan At 01:46 AM 4/26/01 -0400, you wrote: >Delete this email and then delete any other area that it may be saved on >your computer. I deleted both of the emails immediately. Don't need no nasty virus. I already have the flu--don't need nothing else>G< I run a scan couple times a day but even that is not foolproof. (Maybe I should use some of this disinfectant I am cleaning the house with on my computer-you think? >g< ----- Original Message ----- From: <Ch2mglider@aol.com> To: <OKGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2001 10:46 PM Subject: Re: [OKGEN ] Attt::cunningham 1234 > Delete this email and then delete any other area that it may be saved on > your computer.
