    3. You will be looking for city directories (4 ). There are 2 Mt Pleasant cities in Texas. One in Taylor County and one in Titus County. The one in Titus county is the larger one as the one in Taylor county is wide place in the road. There are 2 more not on my map in Comanche and Freestone counties. Here is where to search for information on Texas cities. http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/index.new.html Gene At 10:17 AM 11/17/02 -0600, you wrote: >Dear List: > > My Grandmother died in 1995. 3. Gene: Are you saying that neither city will have information due to it being split and the information I'm searching might not be in the County Library but a local facility? Shelia Bachelder [email protected]

    3. I was born in and lived in Runnels County for most of my life and have visited Taylor County numerous times. Never heard of Mt. Pleasant but my Roads of Texas put out by DOT indicates a small community (unnamed) just north of Buffalo Gap on Fm 1235 which is in the middle of Taylor County...not the western side of the county as indicated by the website TX online. It is north of the railroad. Probably too small for a post office in 1995. Mt. Pleasant in Titus County is your best bet...it is a community of approx. 11,000 people. Mt. Pleasant in Comanche County is a few miles north of Comanche on FM 2247. Probably too small to have a post office in 1995. Appears to have been a small community at one time. Mt. Pleasant in Freestone County is on a county road without a #. It is off of FM 1848 near Snyder Lake...near Leon County. Probably too small to have a post office...appears to have been a small community at one time. The Roads of Texas atlas is great...it shows cemeteries...mine is now close to 12 yrs old so recent issues might contain # on county roads since many had no name or # until recent years. -- Peggy <'}}}}>< Honnoll http://www.geocities.com/honnoll_honnell/index.html Winton http://www.geocities.com/mawpeggy1946/index.html
