Hi Jacque, Are you a Blankenship? I just found out a couple of months ago that my gg-gm's maiden name was Blankenship. I haven't found much on her though. I think she was born in Henderson Co TN. At least she lived there. She married my gg-gf Benjamin C Phillips prior to the 1850 census. However all the county records were in the courthouse when it was burnt in the civil war. My gg-grandparents moved to Oregon Co MO along with some other Blankenships after the birth of one child in 1858 and prior to the birth of the next one in Oregon County in 1860 Her name was Christena Blankenship. I have found a court document that names her as a Blankenship. The document is a court filing by the John S eldest son of Gilbert Blankenship in the matter of his father's estate. Listed as defendants in the case are all the children of Gilbert Blankenship (same ones as listed in the 1850 census for Henderson Co), Gilbert's wife and the children of Christena and BCP. I can't definitely place Christena as the daughter of Gilbert, because she was living with BCP on the 1850 census and not with Gilbert & Nancy and children.
