Mike check this out ----- Original Message ----- From: "tori counts" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2003 12:40 PM Subject: Re: [OKGEN ] BUCY There is no viewable/searchable census records for Okalhoma/Indian territory for 1880 and 1890. Marietta, Oklahoma was in the Chickasaw Nation, then became into Love County, upon Statehood in 1907. If you want to follow the path I did to find this information, I passed up a GREAT many links, you might find of interest. Just go to rootsweb.com, half way down the home page is 'town/county database' click on it, type in 'mar' in the town section and 'ok' in the state. This will list all the towns starting with those three letters in OK, Marietta is listed in love co. click on the love, and will take you to that county page. In the love CO page is a link to chickasaw nation's page, in the paragraph, this is where I went. Have fun good luck Tori http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/census/indian_territory.htm _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
