I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but you can order a copy of an original Social Security Act application for your g'father if you have his SS#. On the one we obtained (it took a year to recieve it after applying and they did not refund the amount over the correct price of the App, so be sure to send in the right amount the first time), it had both his parents names, the name and address of his employer and his residential address (where he was living). So it was well worth the wait since we did not know the name of his father, or have any way to know that he really was in IT at the time. Good luck with your search.
