I am so happy that someone else is experiencing almost the same identical problems that I am, except the name differs. I just spent 6 hours in the Salt Lake Family History Library looking for my great grandfather on census after census and the Indian Territory 1900 and 1910 as well. I did find a marriage certificate for him so I thought that would start some kind of pattern for me. BUT NO! I guess misery loves company and I could sure use some guidance here too. Teresa, At least you found a marriage record! I am about 90% sure John was married twice, but so far absolutely nothing on either. When we were on OK last summer, I hit the courthouses for Pontotoc, Hughes, Seminole, Coal, Atoka, Johnston, any place I could think of within a day or so wagon ride from the Allen area looking for info on him/them. Since I can't find him on the "legal" side of the law, I am now looking on the "illegal" side ! <LOL> Even if he turns out to be a black sheep, at least it will be info on him.
