Hello,Dear Ms Linda Davenport I have a question about a newspaper in around Muskogee in 1899.What newspaper would I have to look at to out about the shooting in which my great grand father was shot and killed from.He stole a mull from him cousin Robert Gentry, I guess it may have made Robert a little mad so he shot my Ggrandfather George Washington Bush and he died from it, I was told where was a trail it witch my grandfathers brother Robert Bush had to testify. The newspaper "Muskogee Phoenix" was the paper being published in Muskogee at the time. This paper is not on-line and the Phoenix doesn't have a web site. The Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City has copies of the Phoenix for 1899. You can contact them for a copy. Best of Luck.
