I'm also proud to be an okie & was raised in the Spud state........my dad talked about locations he lived in (which were only a couple) & locations in which his other relatives lived as did his mom. But if they referred to a Homestead or a farm...it was in connection with the current occupant/family member. I've learned a lot (from Gene & others) about the history of a location, such as Nap's Place) & it'll help me in my search for where my grandparents or at least Grandma was. I wish I had these kind of clue's in regard's to my grandpa. He basically disowned his own kids (only wanted them around for farm & dairy work), and the only "stories" I've been told are only about his character (which is a wonder he lived so long)& not about his childhood or residence.
