Dear Members: There were so many of you folks that responded to my plea, I'm speechless, that's an amazing feat to of accomplished with this southern born girl!! I Love this group! Lucretia Mary / Mary Lucretia SMITH [*TRIMBLE] HAYDEN (possibly) RICHARDS was born in Princeton, Bureau County, Illinois in May 1892 ... her mother's maiden name was HOLDREN - often misspelled HOLDEN. Her step-father was Thomas C. TRIMBLE and her father's name was Ralph SMITH. She is my Great Aunt Lucretia, sister to my Grandfather. She married Ralph HAYDEN sometime after 1910 and before 1916 but where, I have no idea. She had 2 sons with Ralph HAYDEN by the names of Kenneth and Robert and I believe they were both born before 1925 ... but ... that too is something I'm not sure over the information other than their names. Lucretia as I knew her either divorced Ralph after the boys were born or he died. I'm not sure, either direction ... divorce or death, he's out of the picture. In comes another man who marries my Great Aunt. He's her junior by ahhhh ... from memory, more than 20 years or so if correctly remembered! The family talk is that Aunt Lucretia was loaded with money and her 2nd husband was a gold digger ... if you can call a guy a gold digger!? His first name ... I wish I could remember but his last name was like a given name [RICHARDS] [RICHARD] or whatever other spelling deviations there can be for that name! On a date of death, I can share that she was alive in 1965 but had past away before or just after the moon walk of 1969! September 1970 rings a bell and in reflection over the details I remember that she had placed money in some form as savings with an organization that at that time ... they were taking reservations for people, or reserving seats for them to ride a space ship to the moon [someday]. I didn't say she was mentally all there ... just eccentric as most rich people seem to be!! There's my missing California Aunt. Anyone, if you can help me and point me into the right direction ... I'd be thrilled with any assistance! I've tried Rootsweb and get an unsuccessful or no matching criteria found message. I went to the Vital statistics that was given and found over 320 some RICHARDS but the maiden name of mother and the father's surname did not come up ... however, one came up with the mother being a TRIMBLE but the father's name was missing ... I considered that one for a second but had no clue how or when she had changed her gender to male and her given name to Guy ... there it is. My brick!! Shelia Bachelder [email protected] Meandering in Minnesota PS, the individual who sent the Minneapolis addy for statistics or something like that, could you give that information again and explain how to use it! I was rather surprised to see it out of the Minnesota area. Thank you for at least another avenue in searching!
