Becky: Is this the one that is researching and has the website? Idaho? Just became Grandma within the last year? >That would be Syliva Kranik. She's also a potential YORK cousin, right >Shelia.? >BTW, Shelia, I like your name. I've never heard or seen that variation >before. Not Sheila but SHELIA. >My names are YORKs and STEWARTs in OK. They lived all over the bottom half >of the state but seems mostly in Jefferson, Stephens, Pontotoc, and Carter >counties. I don't know of Indian roots with the YORKs yet, but my paternal >grandfather married a Cherokee woman, Hattie Juanita LEE, b. Brown Co., TX. >Also have COLEY, COUCH, LEE, TUNSTALL's in TX. >Becky< I BLAME my mother for that spelling and have paid for it twice over through the explanation as to WHY! *LOL* Mom felt, 'yes' ... mother knows best ... *lol* that the traditional spelling of Sheila was incorrect and that my spelling, which is how she spelled it on the birth certificate and forever more is the correct spelling. No, it didn't dawn on her that she was incorrect. *lol* Oh well, all mother's make mistakes with their children. I just never imagined it to be over a simple case of spelling. *lol* Then, the majority of you have seen my last name ... currently, it has over 54 different variations of spelling and the topics over that thing is enough to dwarf my first name issues. "Grin and Bare It". Should be my quote for life! :o) Shelia C. BACHELDER (pronounced as a single guy - BACHELO[E]R) another form of spelling! :o)
That's me. My grandaughter will be 2 on Feb. 16 - already!! And yes, I have the Url of York website. I've been on this list for a few years now. Just don't say much.
