Thank you for catching that for me! I must have been too excited to think properly (shaking head at self)! It does not list the father's race, only his name. Also I thought I knew for sure that Frank had been born in Tenn, because we have a census record saying he was, but a friend pointed out to me yesterday after I sent my second e-mail to you, that we also have a later census saying Frank was born in IT. So, now we are back to only his name and that in 1894 he was in IT,because Mary was there. I have a court record that has her with her family in 1892 and a marriage licence for her in 1898 and a newspaper article mentioning her death in 1898, all are in IT. It makes me believe she never left the area before she died. Her second husband was "of color." I'm just going on family verbal history, which up to this point has been very accurate, and it says he was American Indian. I am going to try those web sites you sent, but right now I have to help my daughter get ready for school. Thank you again very much !!!!
