Nell, You are doing a wonderful thing trying to place a stone on a grave. There are two problems here. First Oklahoma does not have a death index and second the state didn't require the reporting until a year after statehood and it wasn't enacted into a law until 1917. Some counties didn't fully comply until the late 1920s. I would contact the Johnston County Genealogical Society to see if they have any records. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/index.htm Then go to the county links. I'll check at the Oklahoma Historical Library on next Wednesday when I'm there to see if there is a cemetery book for Johnston County that would give a location to start with. Fred Frederick M.
