    3. I am seeking descendants of A. I. and Ellen (Batson) RAMSEY. A. I. and Ellen left Linn Co., MO and settled in the Lincoln County, OK area in about 1894. By 1900, Ellen had been widowed and was shown in the 1900 Census with 7 children, still living in Lincoln Co. 1900 Census, Oklahoma Territory, Lincoln, Osage, ED# 125 183/187 Ramsey, Ellen Head WF May 1865 35 Widow MO MO MO Farmer Willis Son WM Feb 1884 15 S MO MO MO Bertha Daughter May 1886 14 S MO MO MO Lulla E. Harry Son Dec 1899 S OK MO MO By 1902, Ellen and at least some of the children were in Logan Co., OK. In 1902, the three youngest children were found along a creek bank in Logan County and were placed in an orphanage in Guthrie (The Oklahoma Children's Home). In surviving records of the home, it was found that Lee Ramsey was placed with a family in or near Manchester, OK ( but not adopted), Harry Ramsey was placed (unknown where), Eva Ramsey was returned to her mother after a number of failed placements, in 1905. I am the grandson of Lee Ramsey, and would really like to make contact with descendants of any of the other Ramsey children to see if we can put some more pieces of this puzzle together. 1. [OKGEN ] Newspapers off topic
    2. Shelia Bachelder
    3. Dear Group: My request is strange. Does anyone know how close Madison, Howard County, Arkansas is to the Oklahoma border? If it's right across the border or within 100 miles of the border, what would the local Newspaper of Howard be titled during 1930? I have a census which Wendy provided during a chat that lists one of the children of the family I'm looking for born in Oklahoma however, they're found in Arkansas during 1930 living with paternal grandparents. Their mother was institutionalized in a sanitarium shortly before they were placed with their grandparents between 1920 - 1930 censuses. Actually, I can't find them during 1920. Any help over that would be appreciated. (I think?) I'm still looking for a murder that occurred between the years of 1930 - 1931. The victim or murdered person is Jack Herschel or Herschel Jack HARBISON/HARBERSON/HARVISTON. I have no way of knowing if the name was butchered during print ... it seems to be a popular mistyped or misprinted surname. He was killed by a HENSON, ? ... , Mr. HENSON is Jack's brother-in-law, the husband to Eather Dow HARBERSON, who is the only sister to Herschel o/r Jack. Thank you, Shelia C.
